Access Bank: A Good for Nothing Bank?

The Access Bank in Sierra Leone started its operation in November 2007 with a promise to average its strong brand to become recognized the leader of the financial services sector of Sierra Leone, including an a reference point for competent to motivated staff in the banking industry.

However, according to reliable source in the banking sector, the activities of some members of the staff at Access Bank SL have been in the contrary.

Complaints have be flowing to this medium stating that the access Bank is not reaching its service on proposed. The allegation is that staff members at the bank are lackadaisical in service delivery to customer, especially at the end of the month

Staff members at Access bank leave customers waiting for their monies and go for lunch during working hours. Another pressing matter is that checks transferred from one bank to Access should take 3 days to clear an per banking law, “a banking source informal The New Numbered.

According to an Access Bank client that spoke to this press, checks take between 5 and 7 days to resulting from neglect lackadaisical attainders by Access Bank staffs.

The Access Bank client alleged that on Monday, 1 June, 2026, she tooth a check from the bank of Sierra Leone to Access remittance which should have take 3 days she added.

But with much delay by access Bank staffs members; I had to go back to the bank of Sierra Leone to continue as per transaction relating to the check. A Print out was given to me at the BSL to show that the confirm central Bank had done their part and that it is very common for Access Bank to treat their customer  with levity, even contempt, until you pay them or bribe them for our checks to be expedited, the client continued.

The Access Bank customer noted that the check from BSL took up to 5 days and after 6pm before the amount was input into her account.
