THOSE IN GLASS HOUSES MUST BEWARE TO THROW STONES…

This is a warning call of the dangers to stab those put in authority. The change of guard at Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation and the advent of the first woman Director General Josephine Kamara seem to spark mixed feelings. One of such is the comment of Prince C. Kamara and can be described as a pull-her- down-syndrome and damage remote to frustrate the efforts and dynamism of Josephine Kamara  as she serve as Director General of SLBC.

Before her appointment, there was nothing to show or write home about the forward look of Joseph Egbenda Kapuwa’s transformation of the dilapidated status of the National Broadcasting Corporation. To say the less, what was new at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) is the retained ‘Bottom Line’ which Joseph Kapuwa copied from the international media and consequently not a new initiative from a man Prince Kamara choose to shower praising song.

Sadly, the writer woefully failed to impress on the transformation of SLBC under Joseph Egbenda Kapuwa’s Leadership. Re-echoing the writer’s claim to comparing Joseph and Josephine to upgrade SLBC, the quote on the comment indicate, “implement new decisions or strategies to bring about more sound, robust, effective and proactive administrative, technical, financial and other transformations to an institution or workplace that make it better or more viable than it was under a previous administration”, is hanging on a thin thread. What is there to show that the status of international Broadcaster up grade beyond ‘Bottom Line’?

The National Broadcaster SLBC unlike the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Service has a corporation status defined to go beyond the mouth piece of the Government in power. Therefore, the editorial   policy embraced all and sundry. To say it, is ‘unacceptable’ and ‘erroneous’ for the National Broadcaster not to screen the Ramadan pray-day event at the Presidential Lodge instead on a Sunday, it choose to screen a choral service is a deliberate ploy to draw a dagger on the editorial policy.

Director General Josephine Kamara cannot be Joseph Egbenda Kapuwa in the shaping of the destiny of the National Broadcaster to higher height. For Josephine Kamara is a step ahead in her forward look to a thousand mile to up-grade SLBC. If information gathered by the present is anything to go by, there is an ongoing overhauling of the infrastructure which include the studios at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation.
