The event is scheduled to take place from October 26th to 31st, 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria, under the theme:
“Africa Oil and Gas Markets and Regional Regulatory Integration.”

The NPRA has gained both national and international attention with this milestone, highlighting Mr. Koroma’s influence and leadership within Sierra Leone’s petroleum sector. His selection as a guest speaker reflects the nation’s growing recognition in the global oil and gas industry.

The announcement was made by the Civil Society Organization (CSO) Consortium on Petroleum and Industrial Relations, which commended Mr. Koroma for his role in shaping Sierra Leone’s standing in West Africa’s energy landscape. His dedication to excellence and reform has made him a key figure in policy discussions and industry progress.

Under Mr. Koroma’s leadership, the NPRA has implemented strong regulatory structures with transparency and sustainability at the core. These reforms have created a stable environment for both investors and stakeholders, helping to rebuild trust and attract interest from international oil dealers.

The invitation to Africa Energy Week stands as a clear endorsement of these achievements. It highlights the significant progress Sierra Leone has made under his leadership and affirms his growing reputation as a regional energy leader.

President Julius Maada Bio played a strategic role in appointing Mr. Koroma as NPRA Director General, a decision that is now bearing fruit. Koroma’s leadership has not only improved governance in the sector but also positioned Sierra Leone as a key player in Africa’s energy future.

The Africa Energy Week will offer a platform for him to present the progress Sierra Leone has made in energy reform, as well as engage in regional collaboration. His participation will help strengthen continental cooperation on regulatory standards, market integration, and resource development.

Stakeholders across the petroleum industry, including oil dealers and investors, have welcomed his invitation with applause, viewing it as a testament to his credibility and contribution. His attendance is expected to enhance Sierra Leone’s visibility on the global energy stage, encouraging partnerships, investment, and deeper engagement.

As Sierra Leone continues to develop its energy sector, this opportunity signals a turning point. Brima Baluwa Koroma’s presence at Africa Energy Week is not only a personal achievement but a win for the nation.
