IWPG Global Region 5, 6th Peace Lecturer Training Education (PLTE) Graduation Ceremony Successfully Completed-PLTE, not just an educational program, but the ‘Peace Practice Leader Training Course’-Guidelines for Peace Lecturer was also held |
On the 14th December, International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 5 (Su Jin Park, Regional Director) hosted the ‘6th PLTE Completion Ceremony & Guidelines for Peace Lecturer’ online. Around 45 members from India and Africa, including 6th graduates attended this event, spending time in celebration and making pledges.
IWPG’s flagship program, PLTE, amis to achieve ‘Cessation of War and Spread of Peace Culture’. It is a process of training individuals to become lecturer who not only understand the meaning of peace but also practice and teach it.
This is a part of the remarks delivered by the 6th graduate of Bhakti Maniar from India, that PLTE is a process of cultivating leaders who practice peace beyond simple education.
The graduation ceremony on this day proceeded with various segments, including the screening of a promotional video, the graduate’s remarks, and the awarding of certificates.
Through Congratulatory message, she emphasized “Our aim is only one, to spread the message – “We are One”. Let’s work together for bringing peace in this world. And let’s work together for the cessation of war.” Along with that she highlighted “If we spread the message – “We are One” as a peace messenger, we can bring the drastic change in bringing peace” and sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to the graduates.
At the graduation ceremony, the graduates shared their reflections. Agatha Sushila Anthony Dias said “This journey has been transformative, deepening my understanding about peace and equipping me with valuable tools to contribute to a harmonious world. Together, we can create a world where peace prevails.” China Tapha pledged “The best thing that I found about this program was it actually had a major impact on my heart and some very moved me that I could values and virtues of IWPG that connected that resonated me worlds. In the workplace that I work for, all in the place where I socialize, I think I have already started talking and sharing about what IWPG has been doing. By attending this program, it has given me a broad spectrum of spreading the world of peace, to the people that I know.”
Seong Hyeon Yoon, Global Region 5 Peace Education Manager, described that “This PLTE is more than just an educational course, it is a stepping stone for women to grow into true peace leaders.” She encouraged participants to “shine as beacons of peace in their respective communities”. Along with that Su Jin Park, Regional Director stated that “T your efforts, developed through the PLTE, will be the starting point for achieving peace,” and expressed her anticipation for their active contributions.
Meanwhile, IWPG is a global women’s NGO registered with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Department of Global Communications (DGC). There are 144 branches in 122 countries and 730 cooperative organization, working with the vision of achieving ‘sustainable world peace,’ it actively works to promote solidarity, spread a culture of peace, provide Women’s Peace Education, and advocate for and support the legislation of ‘DPCW.’
